Patrik Skoog releases "Crystals EP" on Barcelona's Combine Audio

"Crystals EP" is the freshest output by the Berlin-based Swede, including two fast-paced techno tracks intended for massive dancefloor devastation.

BERLIN-. After his performance at Combine Audio's OFF SONAR 2018 event, celebrated techno DJ and producer Patrik Skoog joins Combine Audio with a combo of original tracks for the label's eleventh release.

Huge tom movement, biting high-pitched and dark, spacey pads. Implacable percussion cadences and exquisitely synthesized sound effects build a massive atmosphere echoing a walk in the woods on a dark night. This is "Crystal Key", the first cut of the reference.

A deeper and highly anaesthetic feeling is conveyed on "Dominion" the closing track of the EP. Razor-sharp hi-hat action is multiplied by cutting-edge synthetic percussion elements gliding on a soporific array of low-pitched drone pads. The track develops by incorporating elements that provoke shock and excitement with each new addition. This track was mixed and recorded live.

Skoog has signed over 160 releases in the last twenty years, with alternate aliases such as Agaric, Headroom, Render, FAR Electronics, South Operations, Sons Of Piru, FAR, San Lebowski and more. In 2005 he founded "We Are", a techno record label nowadays holding cult-status, and in 2016 "Sample + Hold" came into existence as his newest imprint.
